Hi everyone! I wanted to show you a look I wore to a tea party a few weeks ago.
This dress caught my eye not only for its beautiful florals but also for its stylish design. Ruffles and flirty sleeves are amongst the chicest trends of the moment, and this dress combines them both. At the risk of being an overwhelming mishmash of frills and flowers, the dress somehow pulls the jumble together in a rather harmonious way. However not wanting to push the limit too much, I turned to a more demure make up look with a nude lip shade, and neutral accessories. Still, the look could work well with bold colour shoes (think bright blue or coral).
I had to stop myself from crying. It was a very emotional moment to see Lumi sprint down the runway, stand mid-catwalk and shyly, but excitedly grin to the roaring crowd. It was all I could do not to race to where she was, and shamelessly embrace her. I didn't think I would feel such a whirlwind of emotions surge inside of me, but I did.
Weeks before that moment, I received a text: "Andrea, I would like to dress you for fashion week". "YASS!!" My heart leapt for joy! For me, who am a total sucker for the brand, there was no better way to show up at fashion week, than dressed up in Lumi!
Two days before the shows, I squeezed...
One of the best parts of Fashion is pushing your creativity in order to make new, and unique combinations. Layering is an easy way of achieving originality on your look on a daily basis. A few days back, I grabbed a simple, off the shoulder, white dress that -TBH- hadn’t much going in for it, and layered it in a way that I would actually want to wear. I topped the dress with a sandy colour crochet vest, and again with a military style gilet. How do you guys feel about it?
Hi everyone! I trust your week is going well! I have been told many, many times how hard it is to give me a gift. A gift that I will like and cherish. Well, my godmother sure hit the sweet spot when she bought this dress for me! The only reason why I haven’t worn it that much is because it is actually a bit big on me, and I just haven’t come around to tailoring it. However, I like it so much that I have used it a couple of times already. It struck me that wearing a t-shirt or body underneath would be a great solution to my current fitting problem. Add a waist belt to the mix, and you’ve got yourself a pretty cool ensemble. I encourage you all to get a tad creative when fixing these sorts of inconveniences. You never know what good look you can end up with!
About a couple of weeks ago, I was asked to create an outfit with these gorgeous, lace ankle booties. I was told that because they were such a fashion statement, it would be harder for people to visualize them in their wardrobes. I immediately jumped, psyched at the thought of it. I loved the shoes the moment I spotted them, and I already had an avalanche of ideas on how to wear them.
The easiest way of wearing them is letting all of the eyes immediately fall on them, by leaving your legs bare skin. Wear them with a mini dress, skirt, or shorts for maximum showcase. You can always also wear them with skin tight jeans, or if you don’t dare to actually bring everyone’s attention to them, combine them with straight leg or flared trousers.
With all the 70’s love in the air, falling for certain bits and pieces seems inevitable. Velvety, long dresses are ideal for a weekend, laid-back look, particularly if you are not willing to compromise in style. And what’s more 70’s than fringe? This tan satchel is the perfect fit for this outfit. I added my trusty, super comfortable golden gladiators and Voila! Yes, 70’s love is in the air!
If there is one thing that I like doing is trying out different looks with one same garment, it forces me into experiencing with my own wardrobe and practicing my styling skills. For instance, I have worn this super comfy dress in two totally different ways. Too bad I don’t have images of my other look, but just picture this: Gray, striped dress + chunky heel, ankle boots + maxi, gray cardigan. Let me say that it was actually a rather chic, effortless result. Here I leave you with my second look with that one same dress. x
Last Tuesday was the opening of Monica Arguedas’ new store. For those of you who are wondering, she is a young salvadoran designer known originally for her swimwear, but who then also stepped into the eveningwear market. For the occasion, I wore a maxi boho inspired dress from Express. A piece that immediately made me fall in love, so much so I didn’t want to take it off.
