I was love struck. My index finger froze at the squared image of a blue and green embroidered Mia Mule, placidly resting upon a tower of pink shoe boxes. It was last Summer, when I first encountered these Alberta Ferretti slides. They were royal. Ever since, I have been seeking to find something similar, and within my budget. One year later, I have finally found it, and I think it would be too selfish to hold this a secret. So here is a short round up of flat mules that could very well work for any of you. My favourite: the floral embroidered ones, of course!
Desde el momento en que vi por primera vez las Mia mules de Alberta...
First few weeks into the new website and we have already hit bumps in the road. I am not going to lie, we faced a serious issue with our server, but fear not, 'cause we are back up and running! I am praying and hoping that this new chapter on RRC's book will be written smoothly and with no more unwanted surprises like the one we just had. I want to thank all of you for your patience, love and support!
Ni siquiera ha pasado medio mes desde que lanzamos el nuevo sitio y ya nos hemos topado con algunos contratiempos. Tuvimos un serio problema con nuestro servidor, pero no hay que entrar en pánico porque ya estamos de regreso y...
While looking into this season’s trends, I read somewhere on the net that “if it isn’t off the shoulder it isn’t right”. And according to every other designer, this is one the truest statements that sums SS17’s runways. Although slowly, but surely the shoulder mania is reinterpreting itself -I dare to say that we will soon be witnessing the revival of the one-shoulder trend, as opposed to the current whole collarbone exposure-, we still are in the major boom of cold shoulders. The already hot temperatures, make me very thankful for the trend, and so, here I leave you with a little number that makes me crave even more for summer. I hope you guys like it!
PS: Oh and btw, I’m absolutely nuts over these gorgeous, super colorful and practical Colombian bags! So proud of my friend from @Mestizo_sv!
A friend of mine owns a small house that clings to one of the sides of San Salvador’s volcano. It is a very cozy cabin that houses a garden double its size, with striking views of the city. Last week, for a change, I burrowed the place and went over to catch a breath of clean air. Here are a few shots we took from our visit to the place.
Hi everyone! We have already stepped into a new season. A season of rich colours and textures; a season to turn to comforting food and cosy clothes. Albeit, El Salvador is not a country that drops into winter temperatures, we surely get the chilling breeze of the end of the year; specially at night, when the cold wind delights us the most with the smell of Christmas. So trying out suedes, long sleeves and ruffles seems just right. Cheers to the new season!
November 1st, 2016. Can you believe it?! As we start the month, I’m here to share with you one more of my looks. On this occasion, I committed myself to print mixing once again. A two piece floral set with leopard print flats seemed like a perfectly crazy combination. I hope you guys like it!
Hi guys! I loved the easiness of this look: a bare shoulder, a frayed hem, a monochrome palette. It is my perfect combination for a casual work day. Plus my feet appreciate the flat, classic Audrey Hepburn style pumps. I hope you guys like it!
PS: I was so lucky to step into the chic boutique hotel of Il Bongustaio. This petite, 5 room, hotel is a certain oasis in the middle of the city. It transported me to an Italian villa, with its beautiful gardens, filled with cascading bougainvilleas; its dome shaped hallways, and its marbled floors. A soothing place, that certainly goes well with the italian cuisine served at the, open to all public, next door restaurant.
You do not need to be super observant to have noticed that A-line button ups is the way to go about skirts these days. They are cool, effortlessly chic, and play well with absolutely anything! And as it happens, they are also one of my favourite trends of the season. If we talk materials, I would say, opt for suedes or denims. And lengths? Although the queens of street-style have showcased them in a parade of lengths, I will always vow for minis!
Living in El Salvador for over a year now, made me almost forget about the cool days of Fall, but this past weekend I was lucky to visit Washington DC, and even though Summer was still in the air (at least while the sun was out), the evenings and nights did get pretty chilly. It is the time of the year perfect for layering, and this poncho is an ideal piece for the season.
It so happens that white will always make you shine. There is a goddess-like allure to the colour, and it becomes much more obvious when it comes in the shape of a chic maxi dress. Let me tell you, I could feel a greek muse vibe emanating from this thigh high number. But my favourite piece of this look is, hands down, the white flower headband; the perfect Spring accessory!
