Hi everyone! Last weekend I took a little escapade to the beach. The palms, the sun and the the refreshing sparklings were the perfect company for a short getaway. It all reminded me of this shoot I did, not too long ago. The greens, harmoniously, contrasting with the dashes of yellow and red of the backpack and romper; and the light blue of the shirt works well for an easy cover up.
There is something I must admit about this look. It was actually inspired by one of my best friend’s previous outfit. I was never a fan of XL length tops like this burgundy one, until I saw it on my friend one night. As it happened we went to a chill house reunion with a few friends, and she was wearing a pair of vintage looking black jeans and a grey t-shirt, that shapelessly fell all the way to her kneecap. I personally was not allured by it. But the night rolled in, and we moved the party to a club. My friend and I went separately. As I saw her stepping down the car, my opinion about the garment of my objection, completely changed. She had effortlessly tied both ends on a simple yet cool looking knot to the left side of her perfectly toned torso. Needless to say, she looked hot, hot, hot. So when this excessive peace of cloth came my way, I was no longer offended by it, on the contrary it made me want to create a beautiful outfit with it. I hope you guys like it!
A few days back, I woke up and felt the urge of spicing my look. Mixing a casual floral jumper, with a more unconventional pencil skirt created an outfit that was stylish and bold. A pair of lace up ankle boots was the final touch for a powerful look that screams: Who runs the World?… and, well, you know how it goes!
Have I ever told you that I was once obsessed with interior design?
I would spend hours watching Divine Design and Design on a Dime yearning over the breathtaking transformations, and desiring to one day create sickly beautiful ambiances as the ones that Candice Olson so effortlessly delivered. As life happened, my career steered on a different path, but my appreciation and love of masterful interiors has never left me. I have to say, this is probably one of the reasons why, Lobby, a chic restaurant in the heart of San Salvador, has quickly become one of my favourite places to go to. So don’t be surprised if you see me drinking a few cocktails, or having a big mouthful of their succulent hummus and muhammara any time soon!
Happy Tuesday sweethearts!
Last week, the first edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Days took place in El Salvador (A brief explanatory parenthesis, Mercedes Benz has two big fashion umbrellas: MBFWeek & MBFDays, which is sort of like the first one, but in a smaller scale). The event spread its wings during 4 days, presenting 4 collections of different Salvadoran designers. Three different settings became the stage for the runways, depending on the identity of each brand.
Button up skirts are in. Material, and length are trivial issues: let them be denim, suede, or cotton; mini, or midi; they are just in. This denim mini comes across as a playful number that will guarantee your look to be stylish, fun, and weekend friendly. Combining it with a bright top and a printed blazer seemed like the right idea, and girly flats were a no-brainer. I hope you like it!
