Fresh Blooms

Hi everyone! I wanted to show you a look I wore to a tea party a few weeks ago. This dress caught my eye not only for its beautiful florals but also for its stylish design. Ruffles and flirty sleeves are amongst the chicest trends of the moment, and this dress combines them both. At the risk of being an overwhelming mishmash of frills and flowers, the dress somehow pulls the jumble together in a rather harmonious way. However not wanting to push the limit too much, I turned to a more demure make up look with a nude lip shade, and neutral accessories. Still, the look could work well with bold colour shoes (think bright blue or coral). I hope...

Upholstered

At the risk of looking like the walking version of my parents' living room couch, I bought this Zara jacket on sale. Funny thing about sales, I always go in looking for basics that will underpin my everyday wardrobe, but end up leaving with a bunch of statement pieces, that don't really qualify as your wardrobe essentials. This cocoon type jacket seemed like the perfect way to inject vivacity into may otherwise plain looks; it also opens up a chest of possibilities for mixing prints in an outfit.  xA Compré esta chaqueta en las últimas rebajas de Zara, aun corriendo el riesgo de parecerme al sofá del cuarto de estar de mis padres. Lo que acaparó mi atención además de su aparente...

Mexican Passion

When I am not blogging or PR-ing,  I work as a freelance Fashion Stylist and content producer for the biggest national department store.  I just recently worked on the production of a short look book and I really wanted to share it with you guys. Whenever I work on an editorial, I try to transport whomever may see it to a specific scenario. I want my work to transmit a mood, or feel; to inspire people and let them dream. For this occasion, I got my inspiration from the colorful prints and bright summery accessories. A mexican style house was the perfect backdrop for the vivid outfits, imbuing the editorial with a lively vibe. I hope you guys like the...

Floral Denim

Last week, I was pretty much a guest at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Three, of the five days, of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week took place at the newly built convention centre and its terrace. So unsurprisingly, I decided to shoot a few looks there. Greens & Yellows

_MG_3138

Hi everyone! Last weekend I took a little escapade to the beach. The palms, the sun and the the refreshing sparklings were the perfect company for a short getaway. It all reminded me of this shoot I did, not too long ago. The greens, harmoniously, contrasting with the dashes of yellow and red of the backpack and romper; and the light blue of the shirt works well for an easy cover up.

XL Tee

_MG_1109

There is something I must admit about this look. It was actually inspired by one of my best friend’s previous outfit. I was never a fan of XL length tops like this burgundy one, until I saw it on my friend one night. As it happened we went to a chill house reunion with a few friends, and she was wearing a pair of vintage looking black jeans and a grey t-shirt, that shapelessly fell all the way to her kneecap. I personally was not allured by it. But the night rolled in, and we moved the party to a club. My friend and I went separately. As I saw her stepping down the car, my opinion about the garment of my objection, completely changed. She had effortlessly tied both ends on a simple yet cool looking knot to the left side of her perfectly toned torso. Needless to say, she looked hot, hot, hot. So when this excessive peace of cloth came my way, I was no longer offended by it, on the contrary it made me want to create a beautiful outfit with it. I hope you guys like it!

Let’s run the World!

_MG_6204

A few days back, I woke up and felt the urge of spicing my look. Mixing a casual floral jumper, with a more unconventional pencil skirt created an outfit that was stylish and bold.  A pair of lace up ankle boots was the final touch for a powerful look that screams: Who runs the World?… and, well, you know how it goes!

Green Walls

_MG_4858

Have I ever told you that I was once obsessed with interior design?
I would spend hours watching Divine Design and Design on a Dime yearning over the breathtaking transformations, and desiring to one day create sickly beautiful ambiances as the ones that Candice Olson so effortlessly delivered. As life happened, my career steered on a different path, but my appreciation and love of masterful interiors has never left me. I have to say, this is probably one of the reasons why, Lobby, a chic restaurant in the heart of San Salvador, has quickly become one of my favourite places to go to. So don’t be surprised if you see me drinking a few cocktails, or having a big mouthful of their succulent hummus and muhammara any time soon!

Happy Tuesday sweethearts!

MBFD: Geraldine García

IMG_0007Last week, the first edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Days took place in El Salvador (A brief explanatory parenthesis, Mercedes Benz has two big fashion umbrellas: MBFWeek & MBFDays, which is sort of like the first one, but in a smaller scale). The event spread its wings during 4 days, presenting 4 collections of different Salvadoran designers. Three different settings became the stage for the runways, depending on the identity of each brand.
