The new year is crawling towards us. For 2016, there is a few things written down on my list of wishes, and propositions (career, self growth, and love being at the top of my list). It feels good to start over. It feels good to have a clean year ahead, in which whatever happened before will just help us get to a new, better place. I wish you all an amazing year, and I thank you for being my companions and baring with me in 2015. xxA
I have been hunting for my Christmas and New Year’s outfits since the last weeks of November, but this year the task has proven to be harder than the one before. I have looked online, I have looked on my trip to Spain and to the UK, I have looked on local shops and everywhere I could think of. It was hard, particularly because I did not want to fall on my usual head-to-toe black ensemble. I finally did come across a perfect gold, shimmering, super sexy dress; however, along the way I bumped into perfectly nice and flattering black options that, of course, I thought of sharing with you. So excuse me if you may, but I will now bombard you with a few black outfit ideas for your multiple Holiday gatherings. Let the looks roll!
PS: If you are dying to see what my Christmas gold number is, follow me on Instagram as @AndreaNBonilla and stay tuned 😀
I am not what you would call a leggings fan. As a matter of fact, if anything, I am its enemy (I would burn them all down if I could). However, I have to admit that for this look, the leggings actually work because of the length of the top. I love the combination of snakeskin and faux-leather: it’s daring, sexy, and somewhat powerful. To pull the look together I wore it with silver shoes and jewellery. I hope you guys like it!
PS: I just received my order of flash tattoos and they are unbelievably cool! I tried them out as the dotted gold ring on my finger. You got to love them!
This time I have a pretty good excuse for my absence in the past week… I’m currently on a family trip. We really haven’t stopped. As a matter of fact, I don’t have much time on my hands right now, but I really wanted to post a quick update.
Here is an outfit I’ve been meaning to share with you for a while. I love the easiness of this summer dress, which I can assure you will definitely look even better once I get a decent tan! In addition, the denim jacket maintains the laid-back mood. You can also pair it with flat sandals for a perfect beach look. One of my favourite accessories for this outfit are the friendship bracelets. They surely add that needed punch of colour!
I got to go now, but I promise some great photographs are coming up soon! 🙂
There’s a small shed close to my home that I drive by everyday. I hadn’t noticed it before because it’s hiding behind a shrubbery. I caught a glimpse of it through the bushes while I was pretending to exercise by walking, a few weeks ago. I realized then that its barren brick walls could probably make up for a nice set. And so I decided to put my denim shorts on and explore the area a bit further. In this post you can see the result of the shoot. I have to admit, it was a bit creepy to sneak around the old house, and, call me a coward but, I don’t think I will be going near it again any time soon.
PS: With this post I would like to introduce you to one of my new photographers: Gabriela Panameño. I hope you like the pictures (Thanks Gaby!).
For my third outfit of the black crop top, I decided to pair it up with an old MNG little black dress. This actually happened to be a great idea as the straps on this dress are a bit loose on me; with the top on top, that issue was resolved.
I consider black on black to be a very elegant and flattering combination. This time around I decided to add a special wow factor with what I like to call my disco ball shoes. Also, whenever my outfit is all black I love splashing in a bit of colour with sharp red lips, a flawless final touch!
With this outfit I close up the series of the back lace top in three ways. Let me know which one was your favourite?!
As much as we all would love to have a never-ending wardrobe, so we would never ever have to repeat our outfits again… for most of us, this cannot be the case. This is why I decided to make a series of outfit posts in which I will style one garment in three different ways.
The garment I chose for this series is a black lace Express crop top that I bought not too long ago. On this occasion, I wore it on top of an old MNG summer dress. I love how layering these two pieces creates a whole new different outfit. The noisiness of the print dress is hushed down by the solid black colour of the top, and it still maintains its floral motif but in a more demure way. To finish the outfit, I wore a pair of very simple flat sandals.
Thanks to imperfections, we can perceive and aspire perfection. In fact, it is the imperfections that make the realities around us more interesting. Even the fashion industry embraces imperfections every-so-often as a quest for originality and authenticity. Gap teeth, cat eyes, untamed eyebrows… and in my case ladders in my tights. I hate it so badly when it happens! But the other day, as I was searching for a pair of tights in my drawer, I thought, “Why not just embrace the imperfection?!”. And it actually looked cool! It looked grunge cool. Like “I don’t give a damn” cool! Sometimes, we should just stop fighting the imperfections, and learn how to love them instead.
PS: Talking about imperfections, I am super happy to show you guys my very first GIF! It has loads of flaws, but I still love it! (Scroll down to check it out.)
