While looking into this season’s trends, I read somewhere on the net that “if it isn’t off the shoulder it isn’t right”. And according to every other designer, this is one the truest statements that sums SS17’s runways. Although slowly, but surely the shoulder mania is reinterpreting itself -I dare to say that we will soon be witnessing the revival of the one-shoulder trend, as opposed to the current whole collarbone exposure-, we still are in the major boom of cold shoulders. The already hot temperatures, make me very thankful for the trend, and so, here I leave you with a little number that makes me crave even more for summer. I hope you guys like it!
PS: Oh and btw, I’m absolutely nuts over these gorgeous, super colorful and practical Colombian bags! So proud of my friend from @Mestizo_sv!
One of the best parts of Fashion is pushing your creativity in order to make new, and unique combinations. Layering is an easy way of achieving originality on your look on a daily basis. A few days back, I grabbed a simple, off the shoulder, white dress that -TBH- hadn’t much going in for it, and layered it in a way that I would actually want to wear. I topped the dress with a sandy colour crochet vest, and again with a military style gilet. How do you guys feel about it?
Hi guys! I loved the easiness of this look: a bare shoulder, a frayed hem, a monochrome palette. It is my perfect combination for a casual work day. Plus my feet appreciate the flat, classic Audrey Hepburn style pumps. I hope you guys like it!
PS: I was so lucky to step into the chic boutique hotel of Il Bongustaio. This petite, 5 room, hotel is a certain oasis in the middle of the city. It transported me to an Italian villa, with its beautiful gardens, filled with cascading bougainvilleas; its dome shaped hallways, and its marbled floors. A soothing place, that certainly goes well with the italian cuisine served at the, open to all public, next door restaurant.
Morning everyone! As much as I’m self-conscious about my arms, there is always that urge to wear tops that will allow me to showcase a bit of them. With the pro-shoulder movement we’ve been witnessing in the past seasons, this need is perfectly covered. The super sexy trend allows me to uncover my shoulders without having to unveil my not-so-toned arms. Here is an outfit I wore a little while ago. I hope you guys like it!
The new year is crawling towards us. For 2016, there is a few things written down on my list of wishes, and propositions (career, self growth, and love being at the top of my list). It feels good to start over. It feels good to have a clean year ahead, in which whatever happened before will just help us get to a new, better place. I wish you all an amazing year, and I thank you for being my companions and baring with me in 2015. xxA
If loving someone is something we do for free, then why does every February 14th make us feel like we have to make a gift, try to find the perfect card (because clearly there’s no card in the world that fits your relationship), make dinner reservations, buy flowers, or simply say “Will you be my valentine?”. I don’t want to sound like the Valentine’s Grinch, but a quote I read in a store few days ago said “Good things do not need marketing”. It had me thinking about the good in these kinds of occasions.
I read an article about the reason why it is not good to celebrate Valentine’s Day. To be honest, it didn’t really convince me. It said that in Valentine’s, people end up trying to make everything perfect for one day or for one night, instead of making things perfect everyday. It also said that if you celebrate Valentine’s, it’s because your relationship is failing, or because it may unleash a spirit of competition. I don’t think this to be true.
The V Day is a perfect excuse to “go back to the roots” in your relationship. If you really put your effort into finding the perfect gift without expecting anything in return, you can really strengthen your relationship, even if it is actually failing. I think that mature couples would not be competing on who gives the cutest gift, they would be glad to give and glad to recieve. Need some more reasons?
1. You may have a really funny date. Instead of doing always the same things, you can try something new like learn to dance salsa, or cook pizza together.
2. Love inspires creativity. This can help you to bring out the best of yourself. Do something you wouldn’t normally do, like choose an ice-cream flavor that you don’t like as much, but that he does. Think of something special. After all, what is more lovely than making each other happy?
3. Single? Make your best V Day with your friends. Go for a road trip on the weekend, or order food, watch movies and chill out on the couch.
Valentine’s Day goes beyond hearts, romantic dinners, or teddy bears. Forget marketing and discounts and find your own reasons to celebrate the official day of love, and most importantly don’t make a Valentine’s Day, make a Valentine’s LIFE.
