Colour blocking is a fun way of dressing up. It is exciting to match different tones to create a cool combo. I went for sober hues on my clothes and then added a citric punch with the loafers. Bold and chic.
About a couple of weeks ago, I was asked to create an outfit with these gorgeous, lace ankle booties. I was told that because they were such a fashion statement, it would be harder for people to visualize them in their wardrobes. I immediately jumped, psyched at the thought of it. I loved the shoes the moment I spotted them, and I already had an avalanche of ideas on how to wear them.
The easiest way of wearing them is letting all of the eyes immediately fall on them, by leaving your legs bare skin. Wear them with a mini dress, skirt, or shorts for maximum showcase. You can always also wear them with skin tight jeans, or if you don’t dare to actually bring everyone’s attention to them, combine them with straight leg or flared trousers.
The new year is crawling towards us. For 2016, there is a few things written down on my list of wishes, and propositions (career, self growth, and love being at the top of my list). It feels good to start over. It feels good to have a clean year ahead, in which whatever happened before will just help us get to a new, better place. I wish you all an amazing year, and I thank you for being my companions and baring with me in 2015. xxA
This checked print top somehow brings to my mind the image of a mod girl, although for achieving the look, a high waist, ankle length trouser would be the ideal matching garment, the flare jeans also seem to work. A relaxed look fit for a weekend.
“She always gets the best of shoes”, said the uber stylish Elizabeth Saltzman referring to my shoe shopping skills at sample sales. And yes, I recognize that I do have a nose for good shoe deals. You wouldn’t believe how much I payed for these flawlessly cute Oscar pumps! I’ll keep it a secret for the sake of mystery, but I will tell you this much, I got them for less than one fifth of the actual retail price! And the best part, they totally make me feel like a princess!
The windy days are here, and though it may not be what it used to, with the actual fresh gusts that would make you shiver, we still get the considerably cold nights. The time to pull out your forgotten cardigans, and jackets has come. It may even be the excuse you had been waiting for to buy that flattering blazer or sweater. Whatever you do, remember that the key to this season in El Salvador is to layer, cause one minute you can be boiling and the next, freezing.
So, holidays are right around the corner, and with all the rush of times we barely have time to stop, think and figure out what to wear to all the many events you might have lined up for the season. To make your life a tad easier, I decided to help you with a few outfit ideas. I love the versatility of this shirt, and how I can go from day to night with it. Here is a look I would happily wear to my friend’s Xmas dinner. What do you think?
