The moment I saw these pants, I knew how I wanted to style them. Forget the same-print boxy top that was hanging right next to them, these were begging to be paired with a plain crop top, a long cardigan or vest, and a seductive pair of pumps. Surely enough, when I put it all together, it looked even better than what I had pictured. It is amazing how a sharp look can boost your confidence and give you a change of attitude. When my reflection in the mirror met my eyes, it immediately grinned back at me in cahoots.
En el mismo momento en que vi estos pantalones, supe, sin duda alguna, cómo quería combinarlos. A partir de ellos, dibujé mentalmente un look que...
I have come to realize that one of the keys of style is being authentic. It is not about what or who you are wearing, it is not about your size, it is not even about what runways schizophrenically dictate.
One of my favourite quotes about fashion goes: “Style is personality. It’s having the ability to look at things beyond fashion, and the self-confidence to transform even the simplest thing into something special. It is a natural quality you cannot learn, and there are no rules to follow.” -Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana- And the proof to this statement stands right before our eyes. The great fashion icons, are usually the ones that follow their hearts and originality, not caring about what people may think, say, or judge. It is really about looking within us to find the uniqueness that we each have, and translating it into a beautiful statement of our own.
Although I’m not much of a sports person, I’m really trying to be more active. Last Saturday, I shockingly agreed to play a match of paddle tenis with a few friends. Funnily enough, I realized that the only pair of sporty shorts I own are the ones from my school uniform…For a while, I’ve been meaning to upgrade my gym wear wardrobe, because I have come to the conclusion that the better I look in my gym clothes, the more I will want to excersice and practice sports. I found these pair of stardust print leggings last week and they immediately caught my eye. They’re fun, playful, and out of the ordinary, and for what is worth, they make up for a really comfy and cool look.
A smart jacket will always raise the style of any outfit. I really enjoyed putting this look together. It was a perfect opportunity of creating a contrast between the relax mood of this outfit’s t-shirt, and shorts, and the more classy mood of the white jacket.
Christmas time at my hometown means windy sunny days, and chilly crisp nights. It is the time to pull out jumpers, long sleeves, & any other garment that resembles that of a winter wardrobe. For this time, I created my outfit around this beautiful pleated maxi skirt. I didn’t need to add much to come up with a great look. A striped sweater was the perfect match to give a casual air to the skirt. Of course, when wearing maxi dresses or skirts, I prefer flats for an effortless outfit.
A sporty grunge trend wouldn’t be complete without a dash of tartan. I styled this body-con dress with a white sleeveless shirt, and a pair of high heel ankle boots. Since the neckline was very high, I added no necklace or long earrings. The only other accessories were a couple of bracelets and a black ribbon.
You can never go wrong when combining primary colours. The contrasting hues will always make up for a bold, yet stylish combination. This look achieves a chic and powerful mood that, with the help of a pair of shades, exudes confidence and mystery.
I adore dresses. They are my go-to piece for an easy outfit, whether it be casual or formal. Although I normally lean for solid colour garments, every now and then I let in a bit of prints into my attire. It was actually the bold floral print of this dress that caught my attention. This is a beautiful piece on its own, and I love how it instantaneously spices your look without any further accessories. However, I love raising the bar sometimes, and wearing the dress with a snakeprint clutch seemed like the right thing to do. On top of that, to create a sporty look, I wore a pair of pretty cool New Balance trainers. I hope you like the outfit as much as I do!
